Sporting Competitions Update

The children here at Wibsey Primary School have once again enjoyed a hugely successful term across a variety of sporting competitions.

Children from year 4, 5 & 6 took part in a cross country competition at Tong High School, where they competed against a number of schools within the School Games partnership. The children finished 1st team overall in the year 4 event and 1st overall in the year 6 girls race.

We also had some individual success with Cody Knowles (year 4), Alexis Dunning (Year 4) and Hannah Smith (Year 6) all finishing in the top 3 in their races. Congratulations to all those children who took part. Following our success, we have now been invited to take part in the next round which will take place in Keighley on January 23rd 2019.

Children from year 6 participated in a football tournament at Woodlands Cricket Club where they competed against 6 other schools from the Wibsey area. The children played extremely well and showed great sportsmanship throughout, as they finished 3rd overall.

Last week saw children from year 5 & 6 attend the Sports Hall Athletics heats at Tong High School. The children performed exceptionally well, winning every running race they participated in. We will find out the overall results after Christmas, fingers crossed we have made it through to the next round.

Keep your eyes peeled for further competition updates in the coming months.
