Year 4 Mayan Day

Year 4 had a fantastic Mayan god in to visit us. We learned all about sacrificing, how they created the world and human kind and how they were the first civilisation to use chocolate for drinking. We tasted some raw chocolate and it was very bitter because it had no sugar in it. We did some acting in groups, did sketches from real Maya artefacts, learned Maya maths and watched the teachers become the gods in the story about how the world was created according to the Maya.
