Nursery Update
A WARM WELCOME TO ALL OUR NEW CHILDREN
We would like to extend a warm welcome to the new children and their families, who started Nursery this half term. All of them have settled really quickly and started to make lots of friends. The Nursery adults are very proud of the older children, who have done their best to help take care of the new ones.
Read Write Inc Phonics
The Nursery children continue to play games and sing songs, which enable them to explore sounds and rhyme, but have also started to learn letter sounds, through the ‘Read Write Inc’ phonics scheme. They will be introduced to the sounds m, a, s, d, t, i, n, p, g and o throughout the spring term.
The children loved learning about ‘Maisie, mountain, mountain – mmmm’. They were keen to build a big cardboard box and papier-mache mountain in the Nursery.
The children are really enjoying choosing books from the Nursery library, to read at home. Many of them have earned their ‘Marshall certificate’ and some children have even been awarded with their ‘Everest certificate’.
Here’s how to earn your Paw Patrol certificates:
Change library book 5 times:
Earn your ‘Marshall’ certificate
Change library book 10 times:

Remember that book bags need to be brought to Nursery on either Wednesday or Thursday.
It’s great to see so many children bringing in their purple drawing books, containing some of the pictures they’ve drawn at home. See below for just a few examples.
