Half Term 5!
We wish you all a happy Easter and hope that you have a good break, ready for the summer term.
Next half term our topic will focus on minibeasts and the changes in the world around us. Over the year we have looked at the changes in the weather and our Foundation Stage garden and next term we are looking out for the blossom on the trees as a sign that spring is definitely here. We will also be exploring our outdoor area and learning about the best places to find minibeasts, and what they need to stay alive. Minibeast hunts will enable us to look at the similarities and differences between the creepy-crawlies we find.
Every child in Reception now has a reading book linked to their phonics groupings. It is essential that your child brings their reading book and record in every day so that we can hear them read and change their books. Please also remember to read with your child at home as much as possible, both listening to your child read and reading books to them.
As the weather warms up can we please ask that even on warm days a coat is brought to school as the weather in Wibsey is so unpredictable and we can spend a lot of time outdoors.
Thank you for your support,
Miss Rankin, Miss Meadowcroft and Mrs Davies

October Half Term Homework
We have enjoyed getting to know your children this half term and are amazed at how they have gained in confidence over the weeks. In order to increase their independence we would be very grateful if you helped your child with their holiday homework.
We all enjoy sharing books in school and we have also set a reading challenge for Reception.
We look forward to seeing what you have been doing over the week, please use our class emails to send us any photos of your child’s achievements.
