Year 2 Text of the Term

The Gruffalo

We like The Gruffalo because it’s in a deep, dark wood and there are lots of animals in the story. It is funny because the Gruffalo runs away from the mouse.

Jack, Zayna and Maisie

In Year 2 we recommend:

Charly – I recommend A Squash and a Squeeze by Julia Donaldson because it’s really funny when the cow jumps on the table and dances.

Maryam – I would recommend Monkey Puzzle by Julia Donaldson because a monkey loses his mum and he doesn’t know which animal is his mum

Bailey –  I would recommend Tiddler by Julia Donaldson because Tiddler meets a mermaid. I like stories about mermaids.

Hannah and Thomas – We would recommend Cinderboy by laurence Anholt. It was a really funny story.

Asher – The worlds worst children by David Walliams because there are cheeky children in it.

Isa – Gangsta Granny by David Walliams because in the end it says that the granny collects diamonds from the toilet. It’s really funny.

Maisy – The Gruffalos Child because the child goes out at night time when the Gruffalo is sleeping. The mouse pretends to be a big mouse and scares the Gruffalo’s child.
